JONATHAN KENT ADAMS explores themes of sexuality, spirituality, and place within his art. Adams' history of struggle with religious exclusion creates a transcendence in solitude. His paintings and drawings oscillate between realism and surrealism. Adams encourages self-discovery beyond traditions that often deny the outsider’s existence. Adams received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting in 2014 from the University of Mississippi. He studied under Mary Beth McKenzie at the Art Student's League of New York in 2012. Adams lives and creates in Water Valley, Mississippi.
