2012-13 Barry Hannah Prize for Fiction

The Hannah Prize is closed for submissions. This year’s judge is Nic Brown. Nic is the author of the novel Doubles (Counterpoint, 2010) and Floodmarkers (Counterpoint, 2009), a collection of stories which was selected as an Editor’s Choice by The New York Times Book Review.

 

Entrance fee for the contest is $17. The prize winner will receive a cash prize of $500 and publication in our fall issue.  All entries will be considered for publication online.  Please read the guidelines before submitting.

 

Guidelines: Please only one submission per contestant.  If you submit multiple entries, your work will be disqualified and you will forfeit your entry fee(s).  Previously published material will not be considered.  There are no guidelines regarding style, form or length.  We encourage you to submit your best work.  Good Luck!

The Yellowwood Prize is closed for submissions. This year’s judge is Traci Brimhall. Traci is the author of two collections of poetry, Our Lady of the Ruins (Norton, 2012), winner of the 2011 Barnard Women Poets Prize, and Rookery (SIU Press, 2010).

 

Entrance fee for the contest is $17. The prize winner will receive a cash prize of $500 and publication in our fall issue. All entries will be considered for publication.  Please read the guidelines before submitting.

 

Guidelines: Please submit any number of poems not exceeding a total of 8 printed pages per entry. Only one submission per contestant.  Previously published material will not be considered. There are no guidelines regarding form, style. We encourage you to submit your best work. Good Luck!

Congratulations to Marylee MacDonald and Billie R. Tadros,winners of the 2012 Yalobusha Review contests! Marylee’s story, “The Pancho Villa Coin,” was selected by William Gay for the Barry Hannah Fiction Prize, while Sandra Beasley chose Billie’s poem, “Reactor,” for the Yellowwood Poetry Prize.
